The girls tennis team earned another conference win today with a 3-2 victory over Berea-Midpark.

Gabby Gosciewski at third singles and Ellie Goetz and second singles each earned a “double bagel” win with their 6-0, 6-0 match scores. It was efficient and strong tennis by the two and both held their leads the entire match.

Second doubles teammates Sammie Gaba and Emma Barnard rallied non-stop on their court and fought hard at the net, cutting off their opponents shots and returning high lobs at the baseline. The Bulldogs won 6-2, 6-2 in their last conference match of the season. Their record this season sits at 5-4.

The first doubles team of Madison Sherman and Ally Leither faced an experienced team and struggled to adjust. They never gave up, but took a tough loss with a 6-1, 6-1 match score.

Disha Rathod played strong with several aces in the first set at first singles. She was also up in the second set when she lost serve and started to drop games. Unfortunately, that is when her opponent picked up her pace. It was a tough loss for Rathod with a 6-1, 3-6, 10-4 match score.

The Bulldogs are 5-4 on the season heading into the conference tournament on Tuesday. Matches begin at 2:00pm at Avon Lake High School! Hope to see you there!
