The girls varsity tennis team hosted Midview at home on Wednesday and brought home another conference victory, with their 4-1 win.

First doubles was up 3-2 in the first set, when their opponent was forced to retire from the match due to an injury. Emma Barnard and Sammie Gaba, earned the win and their second straight conference win at first doubles.

Next off the courts was hard hitting, Morgan Truscott on court one. Many of Truscott’s shots were just too powerful for her opponent to return. It was a quick and easy win for the sophomore, 6-0. 6-1.

Co-captain Ellie Goetz, also picked up her second straight conference win with a 6-1, 6-2 win. Goetz ran down every ball and kept her opponent on the run to pick up the win at second singles.

The Bulldog’s junior, Emma Kassouf was in the lineup at third singles. It was Emma’s focus and shot placement that won her match. She connected with several cross court winners and really covered the court well to gain her 6-2, 6-1 match win

The second doubles team of Co-Captain Kate Barrett and Nicole Gaal fought back in both sets, but fell a little bit short with a 6-4, 6-4 loss. There were some terrific serves and net play, but the Bulldogs lost in the close match

Congratulations, Lady Bulldogs on the outstanding team conference win!

The JV Team:
Recent hard work on skill drills, gave the Olmsted Falls Girls JV Tennis team the edge they needed to pull off a close 3 to 2 win over Midview today. Luisa Vallejo and Nora Barnard convincingly won their singles match victories. # 1 singles player Samantha Vinning lost a toughly contested 3 set tie breaker. Katie Gareau and Audrey Helms won their doubles match in 3 sets while Sofie Faust and Megan Nguyen lost their doubles match in a close 3 set tie breaker. It was a great overall team effort.
