The boy’s varsity tennis team scored another conference win with a 4-1 win over North Ridgeville. The team is now 2-2 in the conference and 3-2 on the season.
First off the courts was senior co-captain, Marco Grgurevic with an impressive 6-0,6-0 win that took less than an hour. Grgurevic lead the entire match and showed his strengths at the baseline and with his serve. Also winning at singles were Nathan Mader picking up a well played 6-3, 6-4 win at second singles and Evan Toth at third singles. The 6-0. 6-4 win for Toth brought him to a 3 game winning streak. His lone loss this season is against Westlake.
The first doubles team got a nice win from senior co-captain, John Ewida and sophomore, Adam Mader. Their score was 7-5, 6-3. Both Bulldogs got in several great serves and showed strong net play as well.
The second doubles team of juniors, John Gaba and John McNea fought back and gained momentum, but lost 6-4, 6-3.
The jv team also got wins from Jon Hubeny and Sam Vallejo at first doubles and Avi Rathod and Adam Kwan at second doubles. Sherif Najiub also played at exhibition doubles.
The match against Valley Forge has been postponed for a later date. The team will face Berea-Midpark and Amherst next week.
