In response to new health orders announced by the Governor earlier this week, all Olmsted Falls athletes are now required to come to practice or training sessions with a mask or face covering. Effective immediately, a face covering should be worn when students arrive at their designated practice area. The mask does not need to be worn during physical activity but will need to be worn during arrival, dismissal, and non-cardiovascular activity (as determined by coaches on-site). This order is in place for all coaches, athletes, trainers, and student trainers.
This revision to our mask protocol is in response to the State Health Director’s Order for Facial Coverings in Butler, Cuyahoga, Franklin, Hamilton, Huron, Montgomery, and Trumbull Counties in Level 3 Public Health Advisory, which went into effect on Wednesday, July 8th at 6:00 p.m. (please see attached Directors Order on Facial Coverings). This order is in effect until such time Cuyahoga County is no longer designated red or purple on the state’s new Public Health Advisory System. Cuyahoga County is currently at Level 3 (Red).
Additionally, Olmsted Falls Athletics is also currently following the State Health Director’s Second Amended Order that Provides Guidance for Contact Sport Practices and Non-Contact Sport Competitions, and Contact Competition, with Exceptions. This amended order was issued on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 and is currently slated to remain in effect through July 15, 2020 (please see attached Second Amended Order on Guidance for Contact Sports).
Following state and local health order to keep our students and staff safe is of the utmost priority to Olmsted Falls Schools. Keeping our student-athletes and their families informed with the latest developments on the athletics front is also a top priority and we will continue to keep you updated as requirements change.
Thank you for your time, attention, and continued support.
