Halle was in the Top 12 in the conference in three statistical categories this year.

“Halle had multiple Division 2 and Division 3 offers for volleyball yet chose to focus on her academics and will study education at Youngstown State. Halle is one of the most unselfish players I have ever coached. She does a lot of the dirty work that doesn’t get noticed. Halle has been an incredible leader and role model for girls in and out of our program. She has been dedicated to the weight room both in season and out of season and I am really proud of the person and player that she has become.”

Head Volleyball Coach Brigid Radigan

OHSAA Sportsmanship Awards

Laney Ventimiglia, Volleyball

“Laney Ventimiglia has been one of the kindest, hard-working, and positive players in our program ever since her middle school years. Laney was a locker room leader and a culture leader for us this season. Her work ethic is exceptional: In four years, I don’t ever remember Laney missing an off-season workout. Because of the tremendous respect, her teammates and coaches had for her, Laney was named a 2019 team captain. Laney left all of us better people because of her influence.”

Head Volleyball Coach Brigid Radigan

Joe Lippus, Basketball, Track and Field

“Throughout 4 years as a player in our program, Joe Lippus exemplified what it means to be a high school athlete. Dependable, hardworking, and dedicated are words that come to mind when describing Joe. Regardless of the circumstance, Joe competed with class and character every step of the way. He is the type of young man that every program needs to show the underclassmen how to go about carrying themselves on a daily basis.”

Head Boys Basketball Coach Chris DeLisio

Tyler Urban, Football and Baseball

“Tyler is the type of person that always puts others’ feelings and well-being’ before his own. He is a terrific young man who does everything the right way! Sportsmanship is just one of many qualities that Tyler possesses.”

Head Football Coach Tom DeLuca

OHSAA Courageous Student-Athlete Award

Lauren Kreitzer, Volleyball

Lauren’s Story:

“Lauren Kreitzer is a three-year Varsity volleyball letter winner and was also a member of the track and field team. She had been getting a lot of interest from D2 and D3 schools for volleyball—however, In June 2019 at volleyball camp, Lauren tore her ACL, right before her senior year. A few days after her knee surgery in July, Lauren was right back at it, making the trip to be with her team at a three-day tournament in Toledo. She embraced her new role as manager and took our “real” managers (6th-grade students) under her wing and taught them what it meant to be a servant leader. Lauren bonded with the 6th-grade managers like an older sister. She took them to get ice cream. She took them putt-putting. She talked them through the game on the sidelines. As a teammate, Lauren attended every practice and every match and was still a huge part of our team. She helped design posters for the team locker room. She gave rides to underclassmen. I told Lauren when we heard that she was done for the season, that our team’s heart does not beat without hers. Lauren’s positive attitude and service this year was definitely something our team rallied around. Congratulations Lauren!  We are so proud of you!”
