What will you miss most about being a Student-Athlete at OFHS?
I’m going to miss my amazing team. Beyond while being on the field, we created an amazing family filled with support, love, and laughs. Being an Olmsted Falls student-athlete is so much more than just sports, as every fellow athlete knows.
What is the best experience you had as a Student-Athlete at OFHS?
The off-season activities we did this year was definitely the best, especially because of the current state of our season. Between workouts, spinning to 80’s music, grabbing Pulp after workouts, and the workout themes I came up with but always forgot to partake in, we had a lot of bonding. And of course, our little holiday party when I came early to help Harb and couldn’t manage to bake cookies without burning my hand and almost burning them too (definitely quality captain material)
What is your favorite game, meet, or match you were involved in and why at OFHS?
The 2019 Playoff game against Hoban was my favorite moment. With the tenacity and camaraderie that we played with, it was far from a loss. I think it was definitely raining and playing in the rain is always fun too.
Would you like to thank or recognize anyone who has assisted you along the way?
I would like to thank my amazing coaches, Desmond, Harb, Hayest, and Krucek. They are truly the best and most inspiring women I know! Coach Harb started coaching during my freshman year and has been with all of us every step of the way. Coach Harb thanks for being like a mom to me and always letting me come to your room for much-needed advice. In addition, my whole team of amazing girls, my friends, and my dad all supported me so much!
Head Coach Harb’s Comments:
There was no doubt in any of the coach’s minds that Summer would be chosen to be a captain this year. We have watched her mature and develop over the past four years. She is a true example of a “Student-Athlete”, maintaining her grades as a member of NHS, and still balancing her time wonderfully. She is helpful to her teammates and has extensive knowledge and understanding of the game of Lacrosse. We’re so proud of Summer and can’t wait to follow her career at Oberlin.
Congratulations Summer and the best of luck to you!
