As we continue to recognize the 2020 Olmsted Falls High School Senior Class of Student-Athletes, we would like to showcase those that will be continuing their academic and athletic careers at the college/university level.

Please see the spotlight below on Bulldog Senior Student-Athlete Nedal Abu-ukkaz:

Sport:  Football

College:  Lake Erie College

Number of Varsity Letters at OFHS: 1

Athletic Accomplishments:  1st Team All-Southwestern Conference; Honorable Mention all-district

What will you miss most about being a Student-Athlete at OFHS?

I will miss the community of Olmsted Falls and seeing the stands packed at every game. I will also miss the energy in the weight room.

What is the best experience you had as a Student-Athlete at OFHS?

My best experience as a Student-Athlete at OFHS was blocking a field goal to win the Amherst game on their homecoming night and getting back to back sacks against Berea.

What is your favorite game, meet, or match you were involved in and why at OFHS?

My favorite game was the Avon game which also happened to fall on senior night. We did end up losing but I felt as if we played our hearts out. It’s basically what we prepared for all year. Every snap was played at at 110% on both sides of the ball.

Would you like to thank or recognize anyone who has assisted you along the way?

I would like to thank my coaches for constantly challenging me to get better, my teammates for being the hardest working guys and my family for always believing in me.

Head Coach DeLuca’s comments:

Nedal had an outstanding senior season for the Bulldogs! He was an anchor on the D-line. Nedal was also a 1st team all SWC selection and honorable mention all-district. Good luck next year at Lake Erie College!

Congratulations Nedal and Best of Luck to you!
