Boys Varsity Golf · Boys Golf Team Opens 2018 Season With Strong Finishes in Opening Tournaments


The 2018 Boys Golf Season is underway and the team has performed well in its first three tournaments.  On Monday the Bulldogs took runner-up honors at the 10-team Springvale Invitational, posting a score of 328. Gavin Dietrich fired an 81, and Ryan Higginbotham and Mally Kilbane each posted an 82. Finishing off the scoring were Michael Fritz and Nick Mills, who each shot an 83.

On Tuesday, the team played in the Keystone Invitational at Grey Hawk and finished in 3rd place in this 15-team event.  Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Mally Kilbane, who fired an 80. Kilbane tied for runner-up for individual score in the tournament, which had 75 golfers competing. Brady Loomis posted an 89 which helped the team finish in the top three.

On Wednesday the team played in very wet conditions at the Pioneer Invitational at Forest Hills, finishing in 5th place out of the 14 teams. Low man for Olmsted Falls was Ryan Higginbotham, who posted an 81. Mally Kilbane, Michael Fritz, and Nick Mills each carded an 84.  The team will continue to work hard and get better each day to be ready for the beginning of conference play next Wednesday at the SWC Preview at Eagle Creek in Norwalk.
