Congratulations to the following Bulldogs from the Class of 2018 on their End of the Year Sports Awards:

OHSAA Scholar Athlete Award Winners

Joe Bertrand and Emily Andrews

Joe participated on the golf and tennis teams while Emily participated in cross country, swimming, and track.  They both excelled on their playing surfaces and within the classroom.  With tremendous hard work and dedication, Joe and Emily are very deserving of being the top Student-Athletes of the Class of 2018.


OHSAA Sportsmanship Award Winners

Leah LaPinta and Michael Dulin 

Leah and Michael both demonstrated quality sportsmanship throughout the school year.  Leah excelled and lead her teammates to a very successful volleyball season, while Michael was instrumental in the success of the football and boys lacrosse teams.  They are both wonderful student-athletes and quality teammates who will lead by example in the weight room, in practices, or during competition.


Senior Athlete of the Year Award

Sarah Balfour

A four-year varsity letter winner in basketball and during those four years, Sarah was named 1st Team All-SWC three times and honorable mention once. She was also named 3rd Team All-Northeast District and All-Ohio Honorable Mention. During Sarah’s senior year she was named 3rd team All-Ohio and 1st Team All-District.  She has earned a full Division I athletic scholarship to Southeastern Missouri State University, where she will continue her academic and basketball career. Sarah has also earned Varsity letters as a member of the Lacrosse team as a Junior and Senior.


Senior Athlete of the Year Award

Josh Jaeckin

Wrestling-2 Time All-Ohio (8th place and 6th Place) 3 Time SWC Champion/First Team All SWC; 2nd team in 2014; 2 Year Wrestling Captain; 4-year letterman; Football- Letter winner.  Being a major contributor on the football team as captain and with an injury, Josh was still considered to be one of the best players on the team.

OHSAA Courageous Student-Athlete Award

Delany Allan 

With the support of family, friends, and the community, Delaney was able to overcome a family emergency and continued to strive for success on the lacrosse playing field.  Through strength, she demonstrated perseverance and focus that allowed for her to have the success that she exhibited either on the playing field or in the classroom.
