Bulldogs Fall To Medina Bees 3-0
Set Pieces and Prosser Hat Trick Too Much to Overcome for Dogs
Your Olmsted Falls Bulldog soccer team had their season ended at Brunswick High School by the Medina Bees when they defeated the Dogs 3-0 in the Region 2 semi-final match. The Bees used a hat trick by Andy Prosser (2 header goals) and a pressure defense to keep the Bulldogs off the scoreboard for only the 2nd time all season.
The Bulldogs allowed a counter break goal to Prosser on a fine shot while isolated on a Bulldog defender and led 1-0 at the half. The Bees used 2nd chance passes off defended corner kicks find Prosser twice in the 2nd for excellent header goals to put the Bees up 3-0.
Olmsted Falls pushed the ball but found rough traveling inside the 15-yard line and could not muster many shots on goal. The team speed of Medina on the corners and counter runs kept the Dogs defending their end for much of the match.
Hats off to the Bees on a well-deserved victory as they move on to the Regional Finals next Saturday.
A bittersweet ending the season for the 10 seniors on the Bulldogs. A record breaking season in team wins, shut outs, total team offense and another Sweet 16 berth.
