Bulldogs Start Road Trip With 6-0 Win At Midview

Dogs Defense Pitches Another Shutout To Back Lemin Hat Trick

Your Olmsted Falls Men’s Soccer team started a 3-game road swing in fine fashion by defeating the Midview Middies 6-0 on a sensational weather night for soccer. The young scrappy Middies team found the brick wall defense of Olmsted Falls more than they bargained for as the Dogs rang up shutout number nine and senior forward Kevin Lemin netted his third hat trick of 2017. Senior GK Shelby Edwards took home his 10th win and 9th shutout of the year.

The Bulldogs went to work on defense right away and allowing minimal trespass into Bulldog territory as the offense set up shop in the Middies offensive third. Senior center back Chase Fernkorn and junior holding midfielder Noah Le both put strong shots on frame within eight minutes of the opening whistle as the Middies were forced to drop 9 men back on defense. Senior halfback Mark Ortiz ripped a bullet shot wide and senior Rylan Wikle nearly slid a through ball to senior Charlie Watters. The Middies fought off numerous quality chances until Wikle left footed a cross to Lemin he knocked the ball in for a 1-0 Dogs advantage.

Lemin banged in his 2nd goal off the post and into the net several minutes later. Senior Joe Bement hit the cross bar three minutes before Lemin found Wikle on a break for a nice goal and the Dogs led 3-0 at the half.

Mark Ortiz fed a to cross to senior captain Ryan Kolonick after a great run and he punched in a left footer for a 4-0 lead. Sophomore Jeremy Sgro put a soft through ball to the foot of Lemin for his 3rd goal and fellow Junior Alex Gibson finished the scoring with a close-range goal at the 25-minute mark.

Ryan Hurt, Riley Miranda, and Matt Woehrman, made their varsity debuts and played significant minutes as the Bulldogs face two more tough road games in the upcoming week. Freshman Allistar White and Junior Brandon Chapman played tough quality minutes as the Bulldogs close in on defending their SWC title.

The Bulldogs make a journey the eastside this Saturday evening to battle the Kenston Bomber in Chagrin Falls Ohio at Kenston High School in a non-conference showdown. The Bulldogs prevailed 3-1 in 2016 during a tough physical match. Please make plans to follow your 10-1 Olmsted Falls Bulldogs to the East Side and cheer them on to victory!
