Olmsted Falls High School
Avon and Olmsted Falls faced off on Wednesday evening for the SWC opener at Avon High School in what was expected to be competitive match-up between the defending District Champions and the young, up-start Bulldogs of Olmsted Falls. The teams did not disappoint as it ended in a 2-2 draw.
Highlights of the match include a very hard fought first half that ended 0-0. Avon came out strong in the second half and took a two goal lead. Olmsted Falls rallied and earned a late free kick. Junior Mia Colozza placed the ball where Sophomore Kylie Fitzgerald was able to finish it to make things 2-1. Olmsted Falls later earned a PK and Freshman Jordan Fusco stepped up and buried it to make the game even 2-2, which is how the game would end. It was a hard fought game for both teams and an indication of the SWC will be played in 2017.
Olmsted Falls hosts SWC rival Westlake on Saturday at 7 PM in what is expected to be a terrific re-match from last years Sectional Final, resulting in a Westlake victory in PK’s.
