Girls Middle School Track, Girls Varsity Track · Boka is MVP at Bulldog Relays

On Friday night, the Bulldogs fought through the elements placing second at the 43rd annual Kiwanis Bulldog Relays. Sophomore Maddie Boka earned the meet’s MVP honors as she placed first in the 100m hurdles, sprint medley, 4×100 and second place in the shuttle hurdles. Joining Boka in the relay victories were freshman Julia Candow, senior Mary Piper, and sophomore Mia Colozza in the sprint medley and Candow, sophomore Grace Piper, and M. Piper in the 4×100. Joining Boka in the shuttle hurdles were sophomore Lauren Gumeny, senior Tia Boscarello and freshman Hannah Kho. The Bulldogs also took first in the distance medley with the help of Gumeny, sophomores Makayla Smith, Hannah McCullar and senior Sarah Makari. Makari also edged out a victory in the 1600m with a fantastic finish. Candow, McCullar, Gumeny, and Colozza  captured second place in the 4×400. In addition, the high jump relay of Colozza and freshmen Lauren Kreitzer and Laney Ventimiglia received second place honors. Candow also sprinted for third in the 100m dash. The Bulldogs get ready for the SWC conference meet this week at Amherst, prelims on Wednesday and Finals on Friday.
