The boys tennis team wrapped up regular season play on Monday at home with a solid 5-0 win over Valley Forge. First off the courts, playing tough at #1 singles was senior captain, Zach Buchta. Buchta aced out his competitor with an impressive 6-1, 6-0 win. At second singles, junior Joe Bertrand only dropped one game and downed his opponent 6-0, 6-1. Next up at 3rd singles was freshman, Margo Grgurevic and sophomores, Jon Kopp and Justin Lueng at first doubles. Both these teams served up a 6-0, 6-0 – “double bagel” and didn’t not offer any opportunity for their opponents to even win one game. Rounding out the lineup at 2nd doubles, was freshman, John Ewida and Grayson Stallman. They brought in the final win of the day with a 6-2, 6-0 win.
The team is back on the courts for practice for the next two days and then heads to Oberlin College on Thursday morning for the Division 1 sectional qualifier.
