Bulldogs News · Varsity Baseball Rallies past Midview on April 26th

Senior Aaron Zawadzki ripped a 3 run double to spark a 4 run 5th inning as the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs rallied past the Midview Middies in a huge road win for the Dogs.

Junior Collin Romel fanned 9 Middies and gutted out a 4 run (0 earned) 4th inning by Midview to give the Dogs 6 solid innings. Senior Lukas Banhidypitched a perfect 7th inning for his first save of the season.

Sully Kilbane started the rally with a single and Michael Iler walked. Chris Caswell and Jack Hamel entered as pinch runners as Matt “Arch”  Archual also drew a free pass. Ricky Castrigano worked a bases loaded walk to plate Caswell and bring the senior Aaron Zawadzki to the dish. Zawadski doubled in all 3 baserunners and the Dogs took the lead 5-4.

The Bulldogs helped Romel through the 6th inning by nailing a Middie trying to stretch a single into double on a great throw from Mike Sheneman. Romel then whiffed the next batter to end his work on the mound. Banhidy sent three straight Middies to the bench and Olmsted Falls grabbed its biggest road win of the season. The Dogs are 8-5 overall and 4-4 in SWC play. This a big win for the club after a disappointing loss to Westlake on Monday. With seedings in the not too distant future the Dogs hope to keep the wins coming.
