Game Recap

The JV girls traveled to Rocky River High School and won 8-7 in overtime. During regulation, the Bulldogs trailed the Pirates 5-3 at halftime, but battled and eventually took the lead 7-6 with 2 minutes remaining. Rocky River won the next draw and had a fast break, scoring the tying goal with seconds left in the game. Normally, a JV game ends in a tie, but the coaches and officials agreed to play a 3-minute sudden death overtime. River won the draw and took it down the field, but Bulldogs goalie Maddie Hofmann stopped a one-on-one attempt to score. The clear was picked off by River, and they had a second chance to score, but Hofmann made another great save. The clear was picked up by River again, and they charged to the goal for a third shot, but once again, Hofmann made a spectacular save, and eventually got the ball to Emma Heinrich. Heinrich sprinted down the field, dodged several defenders, and took the winning shot, which flew past the River goalie for the Bulldog win. Heinrich had 5 goals, and Kaitlyn Hradek had 2 goals and an assist. Congratulations Bulldogs!
