Meet Recap

The varsity Bulldogs lost a close first match against North Ridgeville today. The final score was 2-3. This young lineup has only 2 returning athletes from last season with 4 freshman in the starting lineup.

The first win for the netters came from two time letter winner, Abby Gaba. She made short work out of her singles opponent and won, 6-1, 6-2. Taking a loss at 3rd singles was newcomer, Madison Sherman with a 6-4, 6-2 score. Sherman played strong in her first varsity match. At first doubles, senior Sami Ladina was paired with freshman, Elena Garcia.It was a tough loss for the pair with a 6-2, 6-3 match score. Rounding out the match were freshmen, All Gosciewski and Aly Leither at second doubles. The team were the last two on the courts for the Bulldogs and brought home a strong 6-2, 6-3 win. This was the pair’s first varsity match and they made it memorable with their impressive win.

Disha Rathod was in the lineup but had to default due to illness.

The team’s next conference match will have them at home against Amherst on August 24th.
